Exploring of Pawapuri.2020 Diwali.
Pawapuri : A seat of Jainism.
Festival.Dr. Madhup Raman
A light coming out from the Nirvan Sthal of Mahaveera will disperse the darkness and ignorance of the world.
Biharsharif / CR. With the upcoming of Diwali festivals followers of Jainism from the different parts of country used to come to Pawapuri and prepare for the Nirvanotsav. It has been a unique tradition for the Jainis in the temple who used to offer the highest bid for Nirvan Laddu availing the chance for worshipping the Lord Mahaveer.
But this year as the sources said there would not be any gatherings in the 2546th Nirvan Mahotsav. With taking all precautions from Corona virus this diwali Pawapuri is not being over crowded with the devotees coming from different parts of the countries. Usually this time Pawapuri should have been the prime attraction of Jain tourists and devotees. As the sources said this year celebration will celebrated with simplicity and without gatherings.
A light coming out from the Nirvan Sthal of Mahaveera will disperse the darkness and ignorance of of our insides and world and convey the messages of non violence, love and truthfulness around the world.
On 13th of November the 2546th Nirvan Mahotsav was inaugurated by Shrawan Kumar, Ex Minister,Bihar Government with all simplicity in presence of others concerned.
Pawapuri literally it meant where our sin is destroyed is Pawapuri a famous place of pilgrimage for the Jainees for it was here that lord Mahavira, the great Jaina 24th and to last Tirthankara, attains Parinirvana in 490 B.C. It was around the Hindu festival Deepawali so all the Jaini followers celebrate the Deepawali as their Nirvan Diwas of Mahaveer Swami, founder and the propounder of Jainism.
History : It has been recently a fact discovered that the birth place of Lord Mahaveera too lies in in Nalanda at Kundalpoor. Facts are based on archaeological evidences as temples, palaces have been unearthed around this area. It is obvious that Lord Mahaveer spent his much time in and around this locality in teaching his disciples.
Kundalpur is apart from Pawapuri in about 1K.M. from Nalanda University site where the Digamberas believe that Vardhaman Mahavira, the last and 24th Tirthankars of the Jains was borne here. Naturally Kundal pur is a sacred place of the Jains. But according to some historians the birth place of Lord Mahavira was at Kundgram, a village in Vaishali which has been the capital of the ancient Republic of the Lichchavis.
Worth seeing places in Pawapuri :
Entrance of Jal Mandir |
Jal Madir - A beautiful white marble temple called the Jal Mandir center of a large lotus lake to commemorate the spot where Mahaveer Swami was cremated. North of the lake lies, an old temple built .Originally the lake did not exist but crowds of people, devotees and visitors stared taking a pinch of the sacred dust from the holy spot to make the usual Tika or mark on the forehead, created a great hollow which formed the lake in the future.
On Deepawali jainis from all over India visit Pawapuri According to Jainis Depawali fuction is held to commemorate the Death day of the lord.
Bird's Century. If we talk about the tank, the sacred pond remains the birds century and claims habitats itself for the migratory birds from Siberian region during the winter season. We can witness the flock of the Siberian birds around the pond. In mid of the tank the the white coloured temple is situated. Ducks are usually found floating on the water surface. Lotuses emerging towards the surface bursting out of water are with their diverging colour.
Samosaran Temple : It is an important architectural monument of Jainism, in Pawapuri. A temple with the foot prints marks the spot of Samosarna.
Gao Temple : It is an another worth seeing temple in Pawapuri for all Jainis coming from different parts of the country.
Ashapuri Temple : Just 2 to 3 km away from the Samosaran Temple at Ghosrawan village in Pawapuri there is a seat of belief for all Hindu devotees where the people frequently visit the Asahamaharani Temple to fulfill their wishes .
Surprisingly there is a stop on the entry of the women during the period of Navratri. As sources say that as the temple stands for the mysterious relegious nacromancy activities during the Navrtra that is why it is suggested for the women not to enter the temple premises.

Dehradun
Report Damini Rana.
Dehradun / CR.This is an exclusive part of diwali celebration in Uttarakhand Garhwal region villages known as 'Bhella'. In this unique tradition villagers used to gather at the common place and tie the bunch of small pine wood sticks at one end of a climber and burn them. And holding it from another side and they play with it.
As it is known to us that there are some exotic dances of Garhwal and Kumaaon as Choliya, Langvir Nirtya, Pandav Nirtya, Jhora and Jagars. Like other states the locals of Uttrakhand people express their joys and sorrows through dance.
This was celebrated specially in villages as there were no electricity and access to resources like candles, diya, etc to celebrate diwali. And that time people used to celebrate their own way to welcoming the returning back of Lord Rama in Ayodhya in such a way.
As we all know that there has been a tale amongst us that we light the candles and diya for welcoming the coming of Lord Rama,Sita and Laxmana after the victory over Lanka King Ravan.
It is a good way to convey our wishes to all and seen by all
