My New Travel Destination Plan on the Coming New Year : If I were a traveler I would like to visit Rajgir hills that nestled the unseen, misty. ecofriendly lake, Ghoda Katora in Nalanda District with my friends and beloved ones. In the coming new year sensational 2021 my new destination of seeking happiness with my loved ones will be certainly the most beautiful lake Ghoda Katora. And by this travelogue I plan to go there so be with me. And enjoy the best location and a new travel destination for the upcoming year 2021 in the blissful Bihar at Rajgir. Look, here I start my journey with you.

How to reach Rajgir - First I start my journey from New Delhi railway Station by afternoon.I search a train and have a New Delhi - Rajgir bound train the Shramjeevi Express that ends to Rajgir. I reach the Capital city Patna by 7am. From Patna to Rajgir my journey ends by 12 o noon.I remember in route I pass through the major cities like Muradabad, Bareliy, Lucknow, Varanasi, Patna, Biharsharif then Rajgir.
The ancient city Rajgrih is well connected by road and rail head through Gaya Patna and Bakhtiyarpu Station, a major railway junction in Howarah - Patna - Delhi route. If you are very fond of driving the car It is an under comfortable easy drive from the major cities of India like New Delhi, Lucknow, Varanasi, Patna, Gaya, Dhanbad, Ranchi, Sikkim, Darjalleng, Asansole and Kolkata,.
The nearby airports are available in Gaya and Patna too. Recently due to the sincere and regular effort of Bihar Government the eco friendly lake, the Ghoda Katora has been the prime location of all tourists from different parts of the world. How to reach Ghoda Katora :
Yet the unmetalled road from Rajgir Roapway is at progress remaining eight kilometers away from the location connecting the tourists from Rajgir. Surrounded by small hills, this lake looks very beautiful and is an ideal place to roam.We can reach here by horse carriage or own bicycle. We can also enjoy boating here in the lake with floating ducks and other tourists in different available colorful paddle boats . It would be nice if we come here in the morning because after two o'clock in the afternoon, the entry is closed. It is a very comfortable place and we can hear the sound of air and water here.
The tourism officials said that the site would be completely free from pollution. Polythene, plastic bags would not be in use. No motorized vehicles would be permitted inside the area visitors would have to ride either a bicycle or a tonga. The state tourism would offer a tonga ride package and a bicycle ride package at the cost of 100 Rs per person that includes boating in the lake besides the riding.

The setting of the sun behind the clouds and the slopes of the hills, rushing of the misty smoke downwardly as insisting on to engross the entire lake silently, after awhile all is lost in the mystery of the unseen world reminding us of the philosophy of our life, a flock of ducks, nature loving wanderers, solitude seeking souls and all who desire to steal the joyous moments from their busy schedule, entire recalling us of an undiscovered heaven lying on the earth that is around Ghoda Katora indeed, adjacent to Rajgir in Nalanda district.
Glory of Past : The land of Magadh has been a prime witness of continuing glorious history of itself since very ancient times. The mightiest Mahajanpada had lots of archaeological facts earthed inside, claims the history of ages. Below the hills of Giriyak, nearby the five hills of Rajgir is situated a very important historic site Ghoda Katora.
According to the observations of Archaeological Survey of India it seems that the site had been a joint venue of various ancient civilizations and cultures. Many unearthed parcels of those periods might have been hidden since the Gupta period.
Present : This is a perfect place blessed by the nature too.It is the first ecotourism site in the state with the opening of a two way 15 km green stretch inside the jungles at the foothills of Ratnagiri,105 km from Patna coming in to reality.

Horse Bowl : Ghoda Katora (horse bowl) is a small but beautiful picnic spot near Viswa Shanti Stupa,the peace pagoda amid the green valley of Rajgir,an ancient capital city of mighty king Jarasandh, Bimbisar and Ajatshtru. According to Hindu mythology here, there were the stables of King Jarasand (from the Indian epic Mahabharata), hence the name of this place was a horse bowl.

Beauty around it : Ghoda Katora nestled in a quiet atmosphere offers blissful seclusion, famous not only for the historic facts, but also supposingly claims to be a unique bird sanctuary in coming days due to its surroundings. It would be a visual delight for bird watchers who could experience the flying of rare birds from the different parts of the world all around it.

An exclusive road leads to Vanavar Hills too.
Alok / Gaya. When we talk about a tourist place in Gaya, all roads lead to Bodhgaya. But, the
ancient city has many more such destinations having religious and historical
importance, which once visited can become favourite. Vanavar or popularly known
as Barabar in local parlance, just around 20 kilometres north of Gaya town is
one such destination, which has religious as well as historical importance.
Barabar Hills.
The Vanavar hills are a treasure trove of sculptures that
present a mesmerising picture and the rich culture in the ancient times that
establishes its historical importance. The seven caves or Satgharwa are the
caves carved out of a huge granite rock. These caves dating back to Ashokan
period have highly polished interior. Lomas Rishi cave is another one to visit
and feel the advance technology during ancient times.Religious importance of this place is established as there
is a temple on top of the hill. Stairs have been made for the devotees to reach
upto the temple where they can perform puja of the Shivling existing in the
sanctum sanctorum. In the month of Saawan (according to Hindi calendar),
devotees offer kaanwar at the Shivling here. Not only in Saawan, every Monday
people from nearby villages reach the temple and offer milk and water on the
Shivling to seek the blessings. The existence of Paataal Ganga mesmerises the
visitors. The source of water is a mystery. Even in the summer, the water is as
cold as stored in a refrigerator. The
water of Paataal Ganga is is as clean and pure as a bottled mineral water.How to reach :The place along the Gaya-Patna national highway is connected
with road as well as rail route. 
By Rail : If one wants to save money, rail route is
economical. For this, you have to board the passenger train starting from Gaya
junction for Patna or the passenger train starting from Patna for Gaya. You
alight the train at Belaganj station. From Belaganj, you can find public
transport facility such as auto rickshaw and other means of transport, which
will take you upto Vanavar hills.By Road : Another option is reaching there by road. Either you book a
taxi or if you have your own vehicle, it will be more convenient. This is a
great spot to enjoy picnic and to tell the children about our rich heritage.

Ranchi /Ashok Karan. One fine morning of early June 2019, one of Photographer friend Ratan rang me and said that he is going to Netarhat with his family can I join him? As I have heard more about that pristine place but never had been, so seeing a golden opportunity I immediately grabbed the offer and accompanied him. Later I came to know that other people of his family are not going only his daughters Saloni and Raina who are college going students have shown interest for this trip and are going. I offered my vehicle and Ratan took over the driving seat and in the whole trip he drove the vehicle very meticulously and effortlessly so that the occupants of the car didn’t get any jerk and scare in the long three hours arduous drive of which the last leg of the journey was really scaring as there were many twists and turns and very deep George sideways as the vehicle was passing through very rough and tough hilly terrains. I consider myself a good driver but that leg of the journey really developed Goosebumps. But the trip was really very much interesting and exciting the young ladies were also enjoying the pristine and beautiful natural scene. In route we met a group of jumping jacks their awesom eactivities did not fade yet in my scanned memory.

of the surroundings and the hilly terrains we reached Netarhat which is a
sleepy small town and finishes off within few kilometers.
There we checked into
a small but nice accommodation and after taking rest and cup of tea for a while
we set out for the sun set point at Magnolia, which about 10 Kms west of
Netarhat. Which attracts much crowd and is very much exciting. A small but with
beautiful surroundings of Sal and Eucalyptus trees a thin road leads to this point
where tourists were humming and eagerly waiting to see the enchanting view of
Sunset. As the sun going down tourists exclaiming in ecstasy and some
youngsters became frenzied.
The township of Netarhat : Thereafter we came to the township of
Netarhat, it was little dark now and we all set out on foot to see the small
town which is not bigger than a bastee (Big village) and surrounded by the
jungle of high trees. In the mean time my friend Ratan searched a dhaba which a
lady was running and ordered food for dinner and we came back to our
accommodation for relaxation.
While relaxing I and my friend Ratan gulped few pegs
of a very good quality of whisky which we have brought it from Ranchi. And after that we set out for dinner at the Dhaba where the
lady served us desi chicken curries and hot tawa chapaties ( breads) with crushed
onions and green chilies, which was of rustic tinge and was very much palatable to all of us and we
discussed that even the meals of a 5 star hotel is no match of this rustic meal.
An excellent place for relaxation and enjoyments to enjoy the summer & rain.
Here I want to add that this place is less visited and never overcrowded, so it
is an excellent place for relaxation and enjoyments. Summer is the best season
but if any tourist wants to see the clouds kissing the earth and create dense
fog then rainy season is the best.
Beauty of the Surroundings : This pristine place of Netarhat falls in
the Latehar district is 6.4 Kms long and 4 Kms broad, of Jharkhand and is the
highest point of Chotanagpur consists of crystalline plateau covered with Pine
and Peer trees which are planted by the forest department and forest consists
of Kendu, Sal, Mahua and Eucalyptus trees which make the surroundings of
Netarhat very enticing.
Sun Set Point : Its highest point is 3696 feet height. Popularly called
Queen of Chotanagpur and its main attraction it offers is sunrise and sunset
points during summers. Next day in early morning we all went to see the sun rise which is about ½ Kms from bus stand, just in front of Prabhat Vihar a Government hotel. Tourist make beeline to see that spectacular view of the sunrise which most of the time left the viewers spellbound, when the golden rays of the sun appears making the trees, shrubs and the surrounding hills in silhouette and slowly it becomes orange and then blue. This enchanting view has very short life but has intense magnetic attraction.

Another main attraction is its famous residential school of Netarhat, which was established in 1954 by an educationist Frederick Gordon Pearce who was the founder of the Indian Public School movement and was the one of the key pillars in the inception of Netarhat Vidyalaya. On the pattern of Gurukul it offers education to 10 and +2 students only. Previously it was under Bihar School Examination Board but after the bifurcation of the Jharkhand state in 2000, it has come under Jharkhand School Examination Board. It offers education in Hindi medium but English and Sanskrit are optional. Students of this school are still scoring high on national and international level. Later on this pattern lot of schools mushroomed all over India but the reputation of this school has no match so far.
Places of Waterfalls : Netarhat is also surrounded by waterfalls such as Ghaghari waterfall, Sugga waterfall, Lodh waterfall and Sadani waterfalls which are within 40 Kms in radius and make like neck less of a queen who is luring her lovers (tourists) as a seductress.

How to Reach : As travelling by road is the only option from Ranchi to Netarhat tourists will cross seven hills and about 96 miles (156 Kms) from west of Ranchi, 210 Kms from Daltonganj.
But it comes under lesser known tourist
places. While going Netarhat it is advisable for tourists must to carry
necessary medicines as there is verily low probability of getting any medicine
shop nearby.

enjoy themselves . People visit this place
with a great taste and love for
enjoying the texture of simmering dam water
lost in the pride of its youthful beauty. The best time to visit the
pictorial place is from September to November. Its road makes S or Z shape in its zig -zag turns.Must visit

बिहार / नालन्दा . यक़ीन मानिए यदि आप भीड़ भाड़,कोलाहल से दूर रहना चाह रहें हैं। शकून की तलाश में है ,फुरसत के लम्हें ख़ोज रहें है तो कहीं मत जाएं। नालंदा के व्हेनत्साँग मेमोरियल चले आइए। जैसे ही आप एक शांत पक्षियों के ठिकाने वाली झील के समीप आएंगे तो आप के दिल में तमन्ना जाग उठेंगी ...' चल चले ... ए दिल करे ..चल कर किसी का इंतजार झील के उस पार। सही में झील के इस पार और उस पार बहुत कुछ है। मुदद्तों से नालंदा में व्हेनत्साँग मेमोरियल हाल ,पुष्करणी झील,नालंदा का शिल्प ग्राम एवं कुण्डलपुर मेरी पसंदीदा जग़ह रही है और मैं अक्सर वहां शांति और शकून की तलाश में जाया करता हूं।
आप नालंदा आए तो दो पल यहां के लिए जरूर निकालें। नालंदा कैफ़ेटेरिआ से कुछ खा लें। चाय काफी भी यहाँ मिलती है। इत्मीनान से अपनों के साथ खुशियों के पल गुजारें।
पुष्करणी झील : झील में ढलती शाम की बेमिसाल ख़ूबसूरती का अंदाजा, सूरज की पीली धूमिल किरणों का पानी की सतह पर उतरना,परिंदों के रह रह के उड़ने का आनंद आपकी आंखें कभी नहीं भूल नहीं पाएंगी। आप को बार बार लगेगा '..चल कहीं दूर निकल जायें .....
व्हेनत्साँग मेमोरियल हाल में पिछले साल की ही बात है। साल के अंतिम दिनों में हमलोग यू हीं स्थानीय जगहों के भ्रमण पर थे। नालंदा के खंडहर देखने के पश्चात हम सभी ने नालंदा कॅफेटेरिआ में मसाल दोशा भी खाया और चाय काफ़ी भी पी। इसके बाद हम पुष्करणी झील के किनारे अवस्थित व्हेनत्साँग मेमोरियल देखने निकल गये थे ।

हमारे साथ मेरे मित्र नरेंद्र भी सपरिवार थे जो गाड़ी चला रहे थे । गोधूलि की वेला में झील की सतह पर तिरोहित होते हुए सूरज डूब रहा था। पानी की सतह पर लालिमा बिखर गयी थी या कहें पसर गई थी। हमने यह झील कई बार देखी है। बड़ी प्राचीन झील है बुद्ध के ज़माने की। झील के उस पार भगवान महावीर की जन्म स्थली को कई बार निहारा भी हैं। फ़िर भी दिल हैं कि मानता नहीं। हर बार झील के इस पार रूकते हुए सोचता हूं कब यहाँ फ़िर से नौकायन क्लब बनेगा ? कब झील की सतह पर रंग बिरंगी नौकाएं तिरती हुई दिखेंगी ? पहले यहाँ खूब बोटिंग होती थी,है ना। झील जैसे लगातार मुझसे पूछ रही हो क्या मैं नैनी ,कोडाईकेनाल ,मसूरी तथा नक्की झील जैसी नहीं हूं। क्या कमी है मुझमें ..बताएंगे। और जैसे मैं अनुत्तरित हो जाता हूँ।
व्हेनत्साँग मेमोरियल हाल में हमलोगों ने अच्छा खासा समय बिताया। पांच या दस रुपये का टिकट लगा था ना ?
यहाँ एक बड़ा सा खूबसूरत मैदान है। हरीतिमा बिखरी पड़ी है। जाड़े के वक़्त हज़ार फूल खिलते हुए नज़र आ जायेंगे। अगर आपके साथ बच्चें हैं तो उनकी मस्ती ,दौड़ा धूपी में आप कहीं अपने बचपन में विस्मृत हो जायेंगे।व्हेनत्साँग मेमोरियल हाल घूम लीजिये ,इतिहास से भी रु -ब -रु हो लें। गर्व होगा कि हम भारतीय है। पार्श्व में नालंदा का शिल्प ग्राम भी है आप यहाँ से स्थानीय कलाकारों द्वारा निर्मित की गयी बुद्ध की कलात्मक मूर्तियां भी ख़रीद सकते है।

महावीर की जन्म तीर्थ भूमि कुण्डलपुर : इसके बाद हमलोग नालन्दा अवस्थित कुण्डलपुर की ओर बढ़ें। यह नजदीक ही है दो से तीन किलोमीटर की दूरी पर। रास्तें में बड़गाव तालाब भी दिखेगा जो लोक छठ पर्व के लिए विश्वविख्यात है। थोड़े समय के बाद ही हम महावीर की जन्म तीर्थ भूमि कुण्डल पुर पहुंच चुके थे। नंद्यावर्त महल और उनके चौरासी मंदिर देखने के बाद जीवन का सार भी समझ आया। सम्यक कर्म ,सम्यक दृष्टि,सम्यक आचरण यही जीवन का अभिप्राय हैं ना ?
वापसी ,झील के उस पार : अब हम घर की तरफ़ लौट रहे थे। उत्तरी किनारे से व्हेनत्साँग मेमोरियल हाल कितना ख़ूबसूरत प्रतीत हो रहा था ना ? झील कुछ सौंदर्य विहीन, वीरान ,उजड़ी सी दिख रही थी। पानी नहीं के बराबर था। नौकाएं कोने में शांत पड़ी ,फेंकी हुई बिखरी दिखी थी। मन अशांत हो गया। मैंने तक़रीबन सम्पूर्ण भारत का भ्रमण किया है बहुत सारी प्रसिद्ध झीलें भी देखीं है। विश्व में यूनेस्को की प्रमुख विरासतों में से एक नालंदा ने हालियां नालंदा जिला में प्रथम तथा बिहार में दूसरा अपना स्थान संरक्षित कर लिया है लेकिन सोच कर चिंता हुई की इस झील के सौंदर्यीकरण के उपर अभी तक किसी का ध्यान नहीं गया।
वे दिन भी मुझे याद है जब सरकारी पहल और रखरखाव से यहां वोटिंग की व्यवस्था की गई थी तब पर्यटक यहां आकर बोटिंग का ख़ूब आनंद लेते थे। अगर जन श्रुतियों की मानें तो यह पुष्करणी झील गौतम बुद्ध के जमाने की है जब वे नालंदा अक्सर आते थे ।

एक कल्पना है कि यदि झील के चारों तरफ घूमने लायक परिपथ बना दिया जाए। रास्तें प्राकृतिक हो , पर्यावरण के हिमायती हो ,लाइट्स लगा दी जाए,बैठने के लिए लोहे की कुर्सियां भी बना दी जाएं । और वोटिंग की व्यवस्था फिर की जाए तो मेरा यह शर्तिया मानना है कि सालों भर पानी की बंदोबस्तगी के आलम में यह स्थल पर्यटन का महत्व पूर्ण स्थल हो जाएगा। सालों भर भी पर्यटकों का आना-जाना लगा रह सकेगा। राज्य की आमदनी बढ़ेगी और प्रदेश के राजस्व में बढ़ोतरी होगी।
इस सलाह भरी सोच में तो पर्यटन की असीम संभावनाएं छिपी है। बस जरूरत है सरकार की एक पहल की,एक छोटी प्रयास की जो उसे पुनः एकबारग़ी करनी है तो मुदत्तों से वीरान पड़ी झील की एक बार फिर से रौनक़ वापस लौट आएंगी मेरा यह मानना है।
नालंदा कैसे पहुंचे : आप बड़ी आसानी से पटना या गया के रास्तें नालंदा पहुंच सकते हैं। नालंदा बिहार राज्य के प्रमुख शहर पटना गया से तक़रीबन ९० किलोमीटर के अन्तर्गत ही है। नजदीकी हवाई अड्डा पटना और गया दोनों है जहां से विभिन्न शहरों के लिए उड़ानें उपलब्ध हैं।

गया / सर्वेश : नया साल आपके लिए मंगलमय हो। भारतीय संस्कृति का गौरव गान करने के लिए जिसमें नववर्ष का गान का स्वागत स्वयं प्रकृति नया रूप धारण करती है। वायु में नयी सुवास और मादकता फैल जाती है और एक-एक पत्ता संदेश देता रहता है कि नव वर्ष आ गया और नया उल्लास छा गया। ३१ दिसम्बर की रात से ही कई स्थानों पर अलग-अलग समूहों में इक्कट्ठा होकर लोग नए साल का जश्न मनाना शुरु कर देतें हैंऔर रात १२ बजते ही सभी एक दूसरे को नए साल की शुभ कामनाएँ देतें हैं। नए साल की खुशी में कई स्थानों पर पार्टी आयोजित की जाती है जिसमें नाच-गान और स्वादिष्ट

जितनी खुली बंद आंखों से मैंने नैनीताल को समझा है,देखा है ,महसूस किया है शायद इतनी बारीकियां, नजदीकियां,और ऐसे ताल्लुकात यहां के रहने वाले भी इतना नहीं रखते होंगे। वाकई नैनीताल एक दिलकश सैरग़ाह हैं जिससे हमारा जन्मों का नाता है।
मेरे जीने का शहर है नैनीताल. यह सही है कि मैं उत्तराखंड में जन्मा तो नहीं हूं मगर न जाने क्यों लगता है जैसे मेरा पूर्व जन्म का इस शहर से नाता रहा है। नैनीताल से असीम लगाव होने की बजह से मैं कभी कभी कल्पना शील हो जाता हूँ कि शायद सौ बार जन्म लेने के क्रम में एक जन्म मैंने इन कुमायूं की पहाड़ियों में भी लिया होगा। हिन्दू रीति रिवाजों ,धर्म आस्थां के अनुसार हमें चौरासी लाख योनियों से गुजरना होता हैं न। तब जाकर मनुष्य योनि हमें मिलती हैं। इस विश्वास के साथ ही तो हम पुनर्जन्म में भरोसा रखते हैं न । ऐसा प्रतीत होता है मेरी अंतरात्मा जैसे नैनीताल की सुरम्य पहाड़ियों में ही रचती बसती है। परदेशी ही सही,लेकिन आज मैं यायावरी के दिनों में नैनीताल प्रवास के दरमियाँ उन दिनों के यादगार क्षणों के पिटारें यक ब यक ही खुल जाते हैं,और उनसे निकली अनमोल यादों की हिस्सेदारी में आपकी भागीदारी सुनिश्चित करता हूं जिसमें इतिहास पर्यटन,सभ्यता ,संस्कृति सम्यक अत्यंत उपयोगी व रोचक जानकारियां छिपी होती है जो कभी आपको मुफ़ीद भी लगती है । ऐसी उम्मीद करता हूँ।

नैना देवी का मंदिर : शाम होते ही हम सैर के लिए निकले,सोचा पहले नैना देवी के नयन का दर्शन कर लेते है । नैना देवी मंदिर जो झील के किनारें ही अवस्थित हैं उनका आशीर्वाद प्राप्त करना भी नितांत आवश्यक है। हम भी माता का आशीर्वाद लेने ही निकले और थोड़ी दूर जाकर ही सुस्ताने के लिए बैठ गये थे। पिछली दफ़ा जितनी बार भी नैनीताल आया सालों बाद भी तल्ली ताल ,मल्ली ताल ,अय्यार पाटा घूमते हुए तुम्हें ही तलाशता रहा था ,अनु । तुम्हारे लिए, तुम्हारी तलाश में पहाड़ियों में चिर निरंतर से भटकती हुई आत्मा ही बन गया हूं ना मैं ? हैं ना। तुम्हें याद हैं ना ,अनु इसी झील के किनारे तुमने मेरी खुरदुरी हाथों को अपनी बर्फ़ जैसी कनकनी देने वाली नर्म हथेली से स्पर्श कर कहा था , ' ....ऐसा करते है नाव किराये पर ले लेते है ...और यहीं से तल्ली ताल चलते है।'

क्या करता ,मुझे भी तुम्हारा साथ देने के लिए तुम्हारे लिए नाव में बैठना पड़ा था । नाव वाले से तुमने चप्पू भी ले लिए थे या कहें छीन ही लिया था और हम सभी नाव खेते हुए झील के बीचोबीच पहुंच गए थे। पानी से कितना डर लग रहा था। हमदोनों में से कोई भी तैरना नहीं जानता था। सामने ठंढी सड़क पर स्थानीय लोग आ जा रहें थे। बाहर वाले शायद कम ही होंगे। गोलू देवता मंदिर की तरफ़ देखते हुए न जाने तुम इतना भावुक क्यों हो गयी थी ..' इस झील में मैं डूब कर मर जाऊं ...और आप मेरी आँखों के सामने हो तो समझूंगी जीना सार्थक हो गया है ... तुम कैसी बहकी बहकी बातें कर रही थी ,अनु।

ढलती शाम ठंढी सड़क : तल्ली ताल बोट क्लब में नाव किनारे पर लगा कर हम फ़िर से ठंढी सड़क पर टहलने निकल गये थे। शाम होने को थी। माल रोड पर बने होटल ,रिहायशी मकानों के लाल ,पिले बल्ब जल चुके थे। झील की सतह पर कोहरें में डूबती थरथराती लाल ,पिले बल्बों की रोशनी कितनी मनभावन लग रही थी। यह जग़ह कितनी शांत और सुरम्य है ? यहीं पर न जाने कितने फिल्मों और उनके मशहूर गानों की शूटिंग हुई है ना। कुछ तो मेरी जेहन में अबतक़ हैं जैसे ...इन हवाओं में इन फिज़ाओं में ...फ़िल्म गुमराह, दिन है बहार के , फ़िल्म वक़्त, ...पर्वतों के पेड़ों पर ...फिल्म शगुन, ...जिस गली में तेरा घर न हो ..फ़िल्म कटी पतंग ,..तू लाली हैं सवेरे वाली ..फ़िल्म अभी तो जी लें, पहली पहली बार मुहब्बत की है फ़िल्म सिर्फ़ तुम आदि।

चाइना पीक : प्रवेश करते ही नैनी लेक से सटी चाइना पीक दिखेगी। इस पहाड़ी के ढलानों की दूरी को अपने कदमों से ज़रूर तय कर लीजिये। वहां पहुंच कर इत्मीनान करें और नीचे वादियों का ख़ूबसूरत दृश्यों का नज़ारा लें। यहाँ पर कई अविस्मरणीय ,लोकप्रिय गानें फिल्माएं गए हैं। कहते है चाइना यहां से दिखता है।
दूसरे दिन न चाहते हुए भी कदम चाइना पीक की तरफ़ बढ़ गए थे । कभी हम यहाँ आये थे न ? मुझे आज भी याद है थोड़ी दूर तेज़ से दौड़ते हुए तुम किसी फासले पर किसी पत्थर पर सुस्ताते हुए मिल जाती थी। मेरी सांसे फूलने की बीमारी की बजह से धीरे धीरे चलने के लिए मैं विवश था।
याद है अनु उपर पहुँचने के बाद तुमने गाना गाने की भी ज़िद कर दी थी। तब मैंने तुम्हारा दिल रखने के लिए ही सुनील दत्त माला सिन्हा अभिनीत फ़िल्म ग़ुमराह का गाना ...' इन हवाओं में,, इन फिज़ाओं में ..गुनगुना दिया था। हम बहुत देर तलक साथ रहे थे। उपर से झील में तिरती ढेर सारी लाल पिली ब्लू पट्टी बाली नौकाएं किस तरह ठहरी हुई रुकी लग रहीं थीं। बजरी बाला तिकोना विशाल मैदान भी कितना छोटा होकर सिमट गया था।
दूर तल्ली ताल में बादल का एक बड़ा सा टुकड़ा उतर गया था। तब हम उपर से कुछ भी देखने में क़ामयाब नहीं थे।
वहां से न जाने क्यों ऐसा लग रहा था शहर में फैली दूर तलक पहाड़ी से जैसे कोई सुरीली आवाज अक्सर गूंजती हुई नीचे उतर रही थी। कुछ और भी सुनी अनसुनी आवाजें तिरती हुए जैसे मुझे बुलाती रहती हैं ....आज रे परदेशी..।

और भी बहुत कुछ : बचपन से ही हनुमान गढ़ी ,माल रोड ,नैनीताल बोट हाउस क्लब ,चील चक्कर ,नैनी ताल का तल्लीताल ,मल्लीताल ,सूखा ताल ,स्नो व्ह्यू पॉइंट,नैना देवी, ठंढी सड़क,गोलू देवता मंदिर,खुरपा ताल ,क्लाउड्स एन्ड ,लैंड्स एन्ड ,भोटिया बाज़ार ,बजरी वाला मैदान,अय्यार पाटा एवं नीम करौली बाबा को मैं देखता,सुनता और पढ़ता आया हूँ,आप भी सुन ,देख स्मृत कर लीजिये।
डोरथी सीट जरूर जाएं। वहां बैठ कर महेश सुनाथा के टी स्टॉल में चाय काफी जरूर ले। यहाँ से राज भवन ,संत जोंस स्कूल और दूसरी ओर बिरला मंदिर स्कूल का भव्य नजारा दिखेगा।

| सर्द हिमाचल की वादियों में डूबता सूरज : छाया चित्र निखिल |
कसौली हिमाचल का एक शांत कस्बाई शहर है जो चंडीगढ़- कालका के बहुत नजदीक है। बल्कि कहे तो कालका से कसौली की पहाड़ियां गर्मियों में साफ़ दिखती है। कभी सर्दियों में बर्फ़ गिरती है तो पंजाब चंडीगढ़ से आये सैलानियों की अच्छी ख़ासी तादाद जमा हो जाती है।
दूरी : आप दो तीन दिन के अल्प समय में २५ दिसम्बर का मेरी क्रिसमस का आनंद उठा सकते है। चंडीगढ़ शिमला मार्ग में चंडीगढ़ से ६२ किलोमीटर और कालका से मात्र ३५ किलोमीटर दूर प्रकृति की गोद में ब्रिटानिया काल में बसाया गया यह शहर अभी भी आपको किसी ब्रिटिश कस्बें की याद दिला देगा।
हिमाचल के प्रवेश द्वार परमाणु से प्रवेश करते ही हमें चीड़ ,देवदार के सिलसिले मिलने शुरू हो जाते है। कुछेक घंटे उपरांत ही आप घुमावदार रास्तें तय करते हुए आप कसौली पहुंच जाते है।
पंजाब चंडीगढ़ रहने वालों के लिए यह तुरंत पहुँचने वाली मनपसंदीदा पर्वतीय सैरगाह है जहां वीक एंड में पहुंचने वाले स्थानीय सैलानिओं की भीड़ अक्सर जमा होती है।
देखने लायक यहां घाटियों की तरफ़ उतरती हुई सड़कें। सडकों के दोनों ओर पुरानी शैली में बनी कॉटेज नुमा घर ,कसौली क्लब ,टीबी सनोटोरियम ,लोअर अपर मॉल रोड ,मंकी पॉइंट है जहां से देवदारों की गंध वाली ताजी हवा के झोकों को अनुभूत किया जा सकता है।
कसौली की ख़ोज में यहीं पर हिंदुस्तान टाइम्स के सम्पादक रहें देश की चर्चित हस्ती खुशवंत सिंह का बंगला भी
आपको दिख जायेगा। ये वही खुशवंत सिंह है जिन्होंने कई किताबें लिखी हैं और 'बुरा मानों या भला ' कॉलम के लिए खुल कर अपनी बेवाक विवादित टिपण्णियों के लिए विशेष कर जाने जाते है। कसौली की गलियों में चहलकदमी करते हुए शायद आपको अनिल कपूर अभिनीत फ़िल्म १९४२ लव स्टोरी के लोकेशन्स जैसा दृश्य भी मिल जाए। अभी भी पगड़ी वाले सिपाही आपको देखने में मिल जायेंगे।
रहने के लिए आपको छोटे मध्यम स्तर के होटल्स ,लॉज ,गेस्ट हाउस भी पर्याप्त संख्या में मिल जायेंगे। यहां खाने पीने की भी कोई कमी नहीं हैं तो आप शीत काल में अपना कुछ समय कसौली की वादियों में व्यतीत कर सकते है।
